I captured this image yesterday evening. Would you believe that out of 1,000s of bird pictures, this is only the second owl I've ever photographed in the wild?
While I have heard them over the last 60 years, I've only seen one, myself. And only because fires in the mountains had driven critters down here. He was huge, sitting on the utility lines of my backyard driving the crows crazy. Might have been a great gray.
I feel the same; I want to see owls so badly but rarely do! But we have barn owls and screech owls in our neighborhood. Though I don’t see them, I hear them. I especially love the sound of the screech owl. Haunting.
Thanks Don. Even if we can't get pictures of the owls, I'm on the same page as you that it's always fun when you hear them while out for a walk or something.
