Great photos, Todd. Birding and bird photography requires a level of patience, skill, dexterity and interest in / knowledge of birds that I don't have and will never develop. I do admire the work of those who do have it, though.
Paul, for me it was almost more of a location thing. When I moved here the first time in 2014 I would go out with my camera, kept running into birders and then found that when I got home most of my pictures were of birds.
Still not sure I really have the patience, knowledge, or even passion for it. As I said at the end of the post, if I was really into it, I would be watching the rare bird alerts and trying to go find and photograph those. 🙃
Same, in a way, as when I started photography. I loved hill walking / hiking. I took photos of the places I visited and got into landscape photography. At least landscapes sit still.....🤣
