Actually, they were just out there for the fun of it. Nothing organized was going on, but I ran into several young soldiers while I was up in the canyon.
I’m not sure exactly why they were in uniform. But this is an AIT (Advanced Individual Training) post. So it’s possible they are still in a phase of their training where they have to be in uniform pretty much wherever they go.
In any case, it was nice to see these young people taking advantage of such a nice day, and getting out in nature.
